Brendan Murphy’s Boonji Spaceman Lands in Perth

Brendan Murphy’s monumental Boonji Spaceman has just touched down in Perth, Australia—adding a bold new chapter to the global journey of one of today’s most recognizable contemporary sculptures.

Standing 7 meters tall and fully mirrored in chrome, the sculpture now sits in Stirling Gardens, right in the heart of the city. It’s already drawing crowds, sparking headlines, and stirring conversation—a true statement piece against Perth’s historic backdrop.

This isn’t the Spaceman’s first landing. Previous editions have been installed in Antigua, Oslo, and Washington D.C., where a 22-foot version is on view at the Space Center. Each placement builds momentum, and Perth is now part of that story.

The piece is part of a larger civic initiative to energize Perth’s public spaces through contemporary art. And while the sculpture has sparked debate, that’s exactly what Brendan’s work is meant to do—start conversations, shift perspectives, and inspire curiosity.

At Chic Evolution in Art, we’re proud to represent Brendan Murphy and continue supporting the worldwide evolution of the Boonji Spaceman. This latest unveiling reinforces the power of art to connect across continents and spark real cultural impact.

If you’d like to explore available works or learn more about the Spaceman series, we’re always here to help.
