Dee Lazzerini

Brazilian-born artist Dee Lazzerini (b. 1977) seamlessly merges nature, science, and emotion into striking contemporary sculptures. With a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts and advanced degrees — including a PhD in Biomaterials Engineering — Lazzerini combines an artist’s sensitivity with a scientist’s precision. His practice transforms concepts from biology, geography, and human anatomy into tactile, thought-provoking forms.

Known for his distinctive technique of embedding thousands of precisely placed pins into surfaces, Lazzerini reimagines objects such as maps, globes, and botanical forms. This intricate process creates works that feel both organic and engineered — reflecting the delicate balance between the natural world and human intervention.

His sculptures explore a wide range of themes: protection and vulnerability, memory and migration, boundaries and interconnectedness. Whether evoking the branching patterns of a root system or the topography of an entire continent, Lazzerini’s art invites viewers to step closer, discover hidden details, and feel the resonance between material and meaning.

Exhibited at renowned venues such as the Museum of Brazilian Art (MAB–FAAP) in São Paulo and in international showcases like IMPULSE in New York, Lazzerini has earned recognition for works that challenge perception while delivering undeniable beauty. His solo exhibition Latência revealed his ability to speak across disciplines, cultures, and generations.

We champion artists whose work sparks curiosity, conversation, and connection. Dee Lazzerini embodies this mission  blending meticulous craftsmanship with universal themes that bridge the worlds of art, nature, and science. His sculptures are not just objects; they are living dialogues, transforming any space into a place of wonder and reflection.
